The Christmas Table

Did someone say only nine weeks until Christmas?...please! where, oh where did this year go?
Eighteen months ago now, we began to think, dream and plan, a ten week road trip, 4WD with boat in tow, travelling from Sydney to the bottom of Western Australia and then back again. The trip is to serve as a long service leave break for Mr G (husband), after 10 years in his own engineering business, plus some much needed R&R for me, post two children doing HSC years and the producing of Naked Food cookbook!
At the time it seemed like such a long way off, a very small light at the end of a very long tunnel, maybe something that may never even happen! Now, it is just seven weeks until we hit the road in early December.
This year Christmas for us, Mr G and I, and our youngest offspring Jake, will mean camping somewhere around the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia, hopefully catching King George Whiting, for Christmas dinner, if all goes to plan! Meanwhile, our other two offspring, will be 'holding the fort', as well as looking after the garden, the dog and the seven hens. The plan is for them to also join us late January, for two weeks in the Margaret River Region, to holiday as a family (the older two kids that is, not the dog and the hens!)
So while I am sleeping in a hot tent, what will you be cooking for those you love, to celebrate Christmas together?

In mid November it is my great pleasure to be doing a workshop at The Lost and Found Department in their gorgeous country kitchen in Ingleside, NSW.

In my 'Celebrate Christmas' Cooking Class, I'll be showing you some very simple and delicious recipes, just perfect for the Christmas Table.
Whether you want to serve something cold like a delightfully, easy prawn caesar salad

or a hot meal with a simple, succulent slow roasted chicken

these recipes will mean delicious eating, without being hours in the kitchen.
I will also be showing you how to make your our own fruit mince tarts from scratch.
The mid week class is on Wednesday 13th November 2013 from 11am - 1.30pm
Cost: $150 per person.
The class is demonstration only, 2/12 hours duration and includes generous tasting of all dishes, mineral water and a glass of certified organic wine. Recipes of all dishes demonstrated are included for you to take home. Class size is limited to 12 guests.
